I’m Catherine DellaRipa of Della Ripa Photography, and for years I’ve had the honor of photographing Southern California families while watching my own kids grow from toddlers… to teens… to now young adults. Time truly does move in a blink.

And like so many moms, I once thought digital files were “enough.” Until the day they weren’t.

I lost a whole folder of images — years of memories — to a computer crash. Just gone. That sinking feeling never left me, and it completely changed the way I think about preserving family history.
